It was voted to allow me to lead a powder puff run sometime this summer, with some fun events to raise money for a breast cancer charity. There have been some creative names proposed.

It could be either the August 15th club run, or we can plan for it to be a different day if someone is already planning on leading the club run that day.

I have some ideas for things to make the run fun and/or raise money for charity, but if anyone else would like to propose some ideas, an official name, or a different date, speak now or forever hold your peace.

Stay tuned for more announcements as things are decided.

"Okay, that WAS fun!"

It has unofficially become known at the "Save the Ta-Ta's" run. I think we should stick with that. I love some of the ideas you have and people seem to really be coming up with good ideas. Awesome job, Shawna.

I did some googling, and it looks like we have our own Central Oregon breast cancer charity, the Sara Fisher Breast Cancer Project. If there are no objections, we'll donate any profits from the run to them.

I'll purchase some awesome prizes over the next few weeks, and we can raffle them off. Maybe even have some games with prizes.

I heard of another club who has a requirement for their powder puff runs: the guys have to dress in drag. I'm open to suggestions of whether that means they HAVE to dress in drag, period, or whether they only have to dress in drag in order to drive. :-) I believe it was Patti who suggested that everyone, even women, should wear at least one pink item of clothing. Part of the fundraising (in addition to the raffle) could be a "fine" for anyone not adhering to those "rules." What does everyone think? Too restrictive? This is supposed to be fun, but I think it'd be awesome if we could raise a little money for a good cause while we're at it.

Please give your input regarding these ideas, your own ideas, and the DATE, so we can get it on the calendar and well publicized. :-)

For inspiration, here are some photos from one of my online friends' powder puff run.

Randy, the blue dress is nice, but I really think that hot pink is a better color on you!!

Would anyone be interested in bumper stickers commemorating our Save the Ta-Tas run? I could have them made for $5 each plus shipping, so if people paid $6 each, it would cover the shipping, plus a little extra for the Sara Fisher Project. Let me know if you're interested, and I'll place an order next week.

I'm getting excited for this run. Is everyone getting their outfits ready?

There's no reason I couldn't put the same logo on a shirt--who else would want one?

slamunion, it's definitely August 15th, and we're pretty sure it will be beginning in the Tumalo Falls area, ending in the Cascade Lakes region (Elk Lake). Though if anyone plans to trailer a non-street-legal rig, we may change the route to accommodate.

Alrighty, folks, the Save the Ta-Tas run is less than two weeks away. Is everyone ready? Guys, do you have your outfits picked out? Gals, you ready to DRIVE?

As mentioned above to slamunion, please speak up if you plan to trailer a non-street-legal rig. I can certainly sympathize with that issue, and will plan the run accordingly. Currently, though, it's slated to be a one-way run beginning near Tumalo Falls and ending up in the Cascade Lakes somewhere.

In addition to your pinkest, frilliest outfits (I'm SO looking forward to this, by the way), please bring some cash. This IS a benefit run, after all. I'm planning some fun and games, for which the prizes will be tickets (like raffle tickets), and you can also purchase tickets to boost your stash. And why do you need so many raffle tickets? Because at the end of the day, we will have an auction with many fun, silly, and even awesome things to "buy" with the tickets. So the more tickets you have, the better you'll be able to outbid the others. There MAY even be wine and/or chocolate so definitely don't find yourself empty-handed.

Anyone else want a bumper sticker or T-shirt with the above logo? I'll probably place the order tomorrow, so those of you wanting T-shirts, please provide a size. I won't buy extra T-shirts, but probably will get a few extra bumper stickers to sell AT the run.

Hope to see ALL of you at 9:00 a.m. Sunday, August 15th, at the west side McDonald's (next to Ray's, across Simpson from Safeway).

So, the actual cost of the bumper stickers is $5, and T-shirts are $19 for S-XL and $22 for extended sizes. I'll need to bump the price up a bit to include shipping (which will be less for each person if more people order, of course) and also to include a little "profit" to be donated to the charity.

For now, let's say $6 for stickers, $21 for t-shirts sizes S-XL, and $24 for sizes 2XL (available in women's or men's), 3XL, or 4XL (available in men's only, not women's). If that doesn't cover shipping, or leaves very little extra for the charity, I'll ask for a little more. :-) Thanks!

Well, I usually flat tow my Jeep behind my Expedition, as I don't have mirrors, a windshield, plates, or insurance for it, its currently set up for OHV only. But, I don't want to be a party pooper and have the entire run changed based solely on my behalf, but I thought I'd just post up and let you know, since you did ask twice about people towing their rigs... Anyway, just keep me updated if the plan changes. How far you think I'd have to drive it on the street? Or you think I could go back the way I came and still get back to my tow rig before it gets terribly late?
