The work party for the 24 and 25 is now posted. It starts at 9:00am on both days. You must be ready to go at 9 with your lunch, tools, long sleeved shirt, leather gloves, boots. This is a must mandated by the forest service. I wll be camping up there Friday and Santurday night. This is a big push if this trail is to be done on the 31st and opened on Auguest 1st. We really need your help. I will post up later this weekend.

Hi Folks - Is this a DC4W only work party or would it be allright if I tried to round up some of my club to come down and help? What type of tools should we bring?

Thanks,

Jon: You would be more than welcomed. Boondock: you did fine last time; just come and have fun as always. Tools are the same: Sharp, stout clippers, shovel, axe, bowsaw, hardhat, very sturdy rig with winch, bug spray, water, and lots of patience as some time there is very little to go around in the heat. More could be said here but you will just have to read between the lines.

I will be able to come up Saturday night after my wife gets home from work, so I'll camp there Saturday night so I will be ready to work come Sunday morning at 9 am. Should I bring my Jeep up again (do we need me to carry stuff), or just come in my daily driver and hitch a ride with somebody else to the work in the morning?

ziggy: Are you going to build the tire tree savers this weekend? If so you will need rigs to haul the parts in. I don't think that I will be there this weekend. If you need my 1000 watt generator, I can take it to Jon.s or Randy's and one of them can bring it up with them.

New up date PaPa Duck, the last work party I smack my shin on some rocks causing hemoraging due to meds so Doc stated to keep off the leg and keep it elevated this weekend, It swelled up to twice normal size with all sorts of pretty colors. :-(
p.s. will try to talk Doc to let me play next weekend up at region 6 get together.

I must have played hard during my younger years to end up with the bill that I have to pay now.

Anti- coag's are fun arn't they. Brusing is alot easier and stopping the bleeding from small scratches is sometimes hardeer than without the pills. You must have done a good job on your leg to need anti-coag pills. The doc told Venus that she only needed to take one asprin per day for a month to curb clotting.

Vistas on the top of the new trail are always a reminder of what we work for.

Signing the new trail 210 (Quack Attack)
The work parties have been interesting. This weekend we met three PNW members who traveled far to see the progress and help.

Most difficult or more difficult without lockers and a steady pedal you don’t want to go.

Joe and Stacie on the steep incline were great help this weekend on the work party.

John Z., Marilyn, Jake your effort, and commitment to this trail system have been phenomenal.

Let R’ Buck: no one needs to tell you three to cowboy up.

Another John! Our Token Tall Guy for the weekend pounded the signs in place for each juncture. Voicing encouraging words along the trail and asking questions about how it all came into being John thanks for helping out.

An old fashioned 4x4 trail

Joe and Stacie and a great little CJ 5

The last tight spot in the trail and Beau is watching his path closely.

End of the trail and the new small kiosk is in place. Thank you Jon and Josh Pyland they spent two entire eight hour days on the construction of the large kiosk for the trail’s beginning and this smaller version at trail’s end.

We ended the almost completed trails project as we started it: ice cream at Hoodoo Lodge. Helpers came and went from Connecticut, Washington State our club members forest managers too changed but the end result is pretty much a lot of fun.

Our tired iron in need of baths for the upcoming July 30th trip down the SWR with our Forest Service managers in tow.

Great Pics and Comments Just Duckie! You are very welcome for the Kiosks, glad to be able to help even for the small part that it was this year. Patti and I hope to be more available in the months to come. Great trail Papa Duck and Just Duckie!! I know how much you both have worked behind the scenes. The endless hours in meetings, traveling, and writing to the officials. I for one am very glad you both are on our side. Thankyou for all you both do!!

Great bunch of volunteers also, you all deserve a pat on the back as well for building that trail almost entirely by hand and strong backs with no quit in you. Great job all!!!

Hey, I bet I can fix that!

Papa Duck; I'm sorry that I couldn't have been more help on this project. What you and all of the other people that helped you, need to be praised for your dedication to this sport. We seem to be chasized and critisized by all of thoes that have no idea of what we are all about. If thoes in the know would help educatethoes that don't our battle would be less strenuess.

Thanks much again, and thank you to all of the woman that back there men in this indevor to build new class 11 trails for the rest of us.
